Surgical Technology American National University’s Surgical Technology associate’s degree program is designed to provide you with the technical skills and knowledge required for entry-level employment as a member of a surgical healthcare team. Through a blended curriculum of lecture, labs, and clinical training, you will develop the necessary medical and technical skills you need to be successful. As a student in the Surgical Technology program, you will: Become knowledgeable on current operating and delivery room procedures. Learn how to work under high-pressure situations. Gain first-hand experience in a healthcare setting. Complete a surgical externship placement. Our program is designed to meet the standards required to take the Certified Surgical Technologist exam (CST), written and administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
