An Associate Degree in Health Information Technology prepares an individual to work with applications systems and manage electronic health information databases. The Associate Health Information Degree program focuses on teaching an individual the knowledge and skills in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information, coding and abstraction of data and database management. An average starting salary with an Associates Degree in Health Information Technology is about 25,000-32,000 per year. A bachelor degree and/or experience may be required to earn the starting salary. Graduates have the opportunity to become clinical coders, data analysts, patient information coordinators and health record technicians with a degree in Health Information Technology. |
