Early Childhood Education - Associate in Specialized Business

21 months (day program), 24 months (evening program)

The Early Childhood Education program prepares graduates for entry-level positions as teaching assistants and child caregivers in nursery schools, preschools, and primary school grades as well as positions in day care centers. Upon successful completion graduates will be able to provide individualized instruction and attention using the teacher’s lesson plan, assist and supervise students in a classroom setting, create and maintain a learning environment, follow the guidelines and best practices for working with, caring for, and educating infants, toddlers, and early school-age children; and provide assistance and support for students with special needs.

Employment objectives
Graduates may seek career opportunities in public and private schools, pre-schools, day-care centers, and head start programs.
