Financial Services-BS
The Bachelor of Science in Financial Services degree program prepares learners for an exciting degree in the financial industry in accounting, financial planning and financial service management. The curriculum was developed to meet the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc and the Academy of Financial Services standards. The program outcomes were created in association with input from major banks, brokerage firms, accounting firms, credit counseling organizations and insurance agencies. The emphasis of the program is personal financial planning, as students are eligible to sit for the CFP® Certification Exam. Personal Financial Planning is one of the most lucrative and rapidly expanding professions. Much of the growth is attributable to the maturation of the ‘Baby Boomers’ population; those entering their peak earning years and needing assistance to effectively manage and protect wealth. To prepare students for this profession, the program requires student to take business, accounting, and finance courses in addition to the essential liberal arts course series required for career success and mobility. The students will also develop knowledge, skills and competency in estate planning, investments, insurance, tax, retirement planning, and employee benefits planning as part of this specialized degree program. |
