Colorado Technical University’s Associate of Science in General Studies (ASGS) program is designed to provide a targeted educational experience that prepares students to develop the specific critical thinking, problem-solving, ethical decision-making and communication skills that can be valuable for employment in career fields such as sales, information technology and military and government service.

Graduates from the ASGS program can also attain the educational competencies needed to advance in their careers or to use as a solid foundation for continuing their education. The program fulfills the associate-level requirements for most CTU bachelor’s degree completion programs, many of which have an industry-focused emphasis in many of today’s most interesting fields.

What You Can Learn
Coursework in this program focuses on a number of substantive areas relevant to the development of professional knowledge and skills and the high degree of professionalism expected from today’s workers in many industries. For example:

In Introduction to Business, students can explore the variety, nature and interrelationship of problems of business operations in fields like business management, marketing, finance and accounting.

In Web Development I, the fundamentals of web servers, web sites, HTML, XHTML and web authoring are presented in the context of using the technology to craft a message for an audience.
