Leadership

Colorado Technical University’s Doctor of Management (DM) degree program offers a focused concentration in Leadership. This rigorous curriculum is designed to develop leaders in areas of core qualifications defined by the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM).

What You Can Learn

In addition to the advanced core curriculum, course content focuses on five core leadership qualifications: strategic change; management of individuals and teams; accomplishment of goals; proficiency in HR, finance and IT; and coalition-building and networking with local, national and international organizations. Students will be expected to:

Design change management plans to meet organizational strategic vision and objectives.
Develop strategic objectives to meet institutional goals in a dynamic internal and external environment.
Apply leadership theories and team building principles to direct, develop and guide diverse individuals and teams in meeting organizational goals.
Evaluate internal and external environments and make HR, finance and strategic decisions to ensure organizational goals are being accomplished in the most efficient and effective manner.
Use technology, social media and other business tools to advance the mission and goals of an organization.

What You Can Achieve

The program is delivered online and requires students to attend an intensive two and a half day residential symposium twice each year. These symposia are conducted quarterly in Colorado Springs, CO. Completion of this program also requires the successful defense of a dissertation entailing a literature review and a research proposal.
