Medical Office Technology
The Medical Office Technology curriculum is designed to provide students with essential knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level employment in today's growing healthcare industry. Graduates are trained in general front office skills, including touch-typing, word processing, medical record keeping, medical software applications and the process of medical transcription. Students receive extensive training in ICD9 and CPT coding conventions, hospital billing (including UB92 billing), admissions codes, discharge codes, service codes, and revenue codes. The graduate's education is rounded out with a solid foundation in general education, including communications, social science and career development coursework. In just over 60 weeks, you can earn an Associate of Applied Business degree which can prepare you for possible careers as front office managers in medical facilities, medical billing clerks, claim processors, medical secretaries, medical transcriptionists and insurance coders. |
