Sterile Processing Technology
A qualified Sterile Processing Technician performs a wide range of duties including inventory control, decontamination, sterilization and distribution of surgical instrumentation, medical supplies and medical equipment. The Sterile Processing Technology program teaches students the necessary skills required to be eligible for entry-level positions as Sterile Processing Technicians in hospitals, medical centers and other centralized medical facilities. Graduates of the program have completed the required subject matter and clinical hands-on experience required to be eligible to apply to sit for the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) credential. |
