M.A. in Christian Studies: Urban Ministry

With God all things are possible. Designed for the social and spiritual needs of today's society, this advanced degree program prepares ministers or aspiring ministers to effectively serve an urban community. The program focuses on the preparation of leaders in biblical and theological knowledge, practical application of that knowledge in pastoral settings, and the development of character and integrity in all aspects of life. With the Urban Ministry emphasis, courses cover the opportunities and challenges of ministry in cross-cultural and multicultural situations as well as urban ministries in general. Students will consider domestic and international settings. In addition, the curriculum focuses on how the church's mission expresses itself in the urban setting and the ethical implications for decisions made in urban ministry. Graduates will have the skills and insight needed to inspire faith and effectively minister congregations in today's challenging and diverse societies.
