Medical Administrative Assistant

Our Medical Administrative Assistant training program is designed to provide you the business, technology and communication skills needed to work in a private physician’s office, clinic, hospital setting or professional dental environment.

Outcome of the Medical Administrative Assistant program

You receive an Associate of Occupational Studies degree, which makes you eligible to sit for testing in Colorado for the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant certifications from the National Healthcare Association (NHA). Plus, you are eligible to sit for NHA’s Certified Medical Transcriptionists exam.

With a Medical Administrative Assistant degree you can use your knowledge and skills to:

Edit and format transcriptions
Interpret documentation into alphanumeric form through correct coding
Utilize various medical software
Code from ICD-9-CM, CPT-4 and ADA codes
