Information Technologies Specialist
Interested in a training for a career as an IT Specialist? This program prepares the student to enter a career as a computer service technician in the area of service and maintenance of both industry and consumer computer products. The student will develop a basic understanding of the personal computer. Hands-on skills are highly emphasized in diagnosis and repair of related equipment. The student develops the knowledge and trouble-shooting skills needed to operate and service computer and network equipment. The program is focused on industry standards, and includes preparation for the A+ and Net+ Certification exams with an understanding necessary to perform simple network administration tasks. The student learns the employment-seeking skills necessary to successfully enter the employment market. As with all programs at ICT/ILS, this program includes an externship. An Externship is a program component that assigns a student to a partnering company for 135 hours, giving the student the opportunity to put his/her new skills to use and gain real-life career training. ICT/ILS is one of the few schools that offer this as part of a student’s training in every program of study. |
