Medical Office Administrative Specialist
The health care field is one of the fastest growing segments of the labor force. Aside from patient care and patient services, the processing of documents is a critical task that requires a well trained professional. The career objective of this program is to provide the graduate the general knowledge and specific skills needed to obtain entry-level employment in the healthcare environment. Medical Records and Health Information Administrative Specialists perform a variety of duties. Included in these duties is the assembling of patient’s health information including medical history, examination results, diagnostic tests, treatment methods and other health carte services. The Office Administrative Specialist is increasingly called on to use electronic health records systems. These systems cover a variety of services such as appointment scheduling, diagnostic test scheduling and billing and accounting services.
