Electrician-Lighting and Installation

The Electrical Lighting and Installation Diploma program will provide students with the technical knowledge and hands-on learning necessary to enter into a career in the electrical field. The curriculum includes:

Introduction to Hand and Power Tools
Introduction to Construction Drawings
Electrical Safety
The National Electrical Code
Basic Circuits and Construction Drawings
Motors Theory and Application
Lighting Basics
Electrical Installations
Breaker and Control Systems
Basic Lighting and Electrical Design

In addition, students will have the opportunity to take business courses, learn customer service skills, as well as career search techniques and strategies. A 250 hour externship will provide students with direct, on-site experience performing assigned electrical installation and maintenance tasks according to the National Electrical Code requirements.
