Medical Office Management is a comprehensive 18-month Associate of Applied Science degree-granting program designed to provide students with technical study involving practical and business applications in the allied health fields. The program begins with building a strong foundation in medical assisting skills. After completion of the specialized coursework, students receive additional instruction in the office management skills needed for careers in the allied health profession.
Information is delivered in theory and supplemented with laboratory “hands-on” experience and a 160-hour externship. The externship rotation is an educational experience required for graduation from the program and students are expected to adjust personal and work schedules to accommodate the externship schedule. Students with a GED or high school diploma will be eligible to earn nationally recognized industry certification.
