Business Administration Program Overview

Learn economic principles to apply to sound business decisions
Understand and apply the basics of contractual law, torts, and specific forms of contractual relationships
Assess and apply management theories from the standpoint of organizational and individual effectiveness
Evaluate and implement various methods of financing as required by an organization to meet capitalization needs
Implement the principles of marketing, selling, and public relations within different types of business organizations

Business Administration Program Goals

Upon completion of the program, it is expected that students will be able to:

Demonstrate foundational knowledge of the common professional components of the business environment
Understand and analyze ethical behaviors in the business environment
Recognize and apply clear oral, written, and electronic communication when making professional business decisions
Construct and implement strategies to maximize operational effectiveness in a dynamic and rapidly evolving business environment
Prepare and present a complete business plan

Four specialized concentrations exist within the Business Administration program at Northwestern College. The general Business Administration emphasis prepares you to understand the ins and outs of business as a whole. The Management emphasis is all about learning what it takes to assume supervisory responsibilities. The Entrepreneur emphasis focuses on successfully owning and operating your own business. The Finance and Investment Management emphasis deals with the specifics of handling a business' financial responsibilities.
