Clinical medical assistants' duties can vary, depending on the location and size of the practice in which they work and the practitioner's specialty. In small practices, medical assistants usually handle administrative and clinical duties and report directly to an office manager, a physician, or another health care practitioner. Those medical assistants working in large practices tend to specialize in a particular area and work for department administrators.(1)
If you're interested in a career in health care, Remington College's associate's degree in Clinical Medical Assisting provides training in the skills and knowledge that may help you qualify for entry-level medical assistant jobs in a variety of healthcare venues. This program is offered at our Honolulu, Hawaii campus.(1)
