SJVC students can prepare for work in a healthcare office setting by choosing the credential level that best meets their needs and career goals. The Certificate-level Medical Office Administration (MOA) programs offer the training required to provide basic administrative support in a medical office setting. Graduates of the Medical Billing Specialist (MBS)
programs earn an Associate of Science (A.S.) Degree and benefit from advanced training in medical billing, coding and office management.
Certifications Earned
Graduates of the MOA programs earn a Certificate of Completion and graduates of the MBS programs earn an A.S. Degree.
Graduates are eligible to take several national certification and credentialing examinations administered by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). Graduates also earn Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), AHA-Adult & Infant CPR, and First Aid Certification.
