Practical Nursing
Becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a rewarding and challenging career path ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy working with people and are interested in a career that contributes to the comfort and well-being of others. LPNs work directly with patients providing important medical care and act as essential members of a health care team. Successful LPNs are able to multi-task and enjoy doing a wide variety of different tasks in a given day. You can gain the necessary skills and knowledge to handle a variety of responsibilities as a Practical Nurse in settings such as: hospitals, health clinics, doctors’ offices, and assisted living facilities. Upon completion of the Practical Nursing Program, students are eligible to apply to the Oregon State Board of Nursing to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). You must be licensed to practice in the state of Oregon. Each state has its own licensing requirements that must be met. |
