Medical/Clinical Lab Assistant

The UMA Medical Assistant program trains you for entry-level employment in the high-demand Medical Assisting field. This focused, hands-on course can be completed in under a year. You’ll learn to perform a variety of clinical procedures, such as EKG, CPR, specimen collection and drug administration, and to manage the day-to-day business operations of a medical facility. After completing classroom training and a real-world externship at a local healthcare provider, you’ll receive a diploma and be ready to pursue employment in doctors’ offices, hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, and other healthcare facilities. Optionally, graduates can sit for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exams to increase their earning potential and open up more job opportunities.
