In an effort to answer the growing demand for highly educated human resources managers, many campus-based and online schools are creating degree programs that can prepare students for lucrative careers in employee relations.

For instance, an Idaho-based university recently announced that it will allow students in its part-time MBA program to concentrate on human resource management.

This course of study will require degree seekers to participate in interactive workshops, which are intended to give students hands-on experience. The coursework will focus on topics such as leadership, management and administration, and the curriculum aims to lead enrollees into influential and strategic positions in the human resources field.

Individuals who wish to enter this industry may want to consider taking classes on social sciences, business administration or behavioral science, as the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that knowledge in these fields can be helpful in this sector.

Nearly 1 million human resource management positions are expected to be created over the next eight years, and most employers require these professionals to hold a bachelors degree at minimum, according to the BLS.
