A Minnesota-based university specializing in online education is the latest recipient of the Blackboard Exemplary Course Award, an accolade that the institution has now received for six years in a row.

The honor was given for demonstrating excellence in online courses that other educational facilities can model their programs after.

The Blackboard Exemplary Course Program seeks to honor the best courses, determined by a number of factors, including high-quality design, engaging content and flawless structure. More than 200 faculty members and instructional designers take a thorough look at each submission to assess their design, collaboration, student interaction and more.

The university, based in Minneapolis, is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and allows students to earn business administration degrees online, as well as degrees in nursing, homeland security, psychology, public health, information technology, human resource management and many other tracks. The institution currently serves more than 40,000 students in nearly 60 countries around the world.
