A community college in California recently forged a deal that will allow its students to pursue a bachelor's degree at a discounted price.

According to The Valley Chronicle, the college will now offer degrees in interdisciplinary and liberal studies through a partnership with a four-year university. Students will save $300 per credit if they attend the bachelor's degree courses at the community college.

Admission into the program is guaranteed for individuals who complete the two-year prerequisites. Bachelor's degree classes will be offered in eight-week sessions and held at one of the community college's locations.

The college's transfer coordinator said that the partnership will present a viable option for continued education. Students who wish to pursue interdisciplinary studies degree can choose from a variety of concentrations, including public administration, communication arts and psychology.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that the number of job opportunities for psychologists will grow by 12 percent during the next eight years. The demand for school therapists will increase because of a growing awareness of how negative behavior, such as bullying, can affect a child's mental health.
