Although they may have a great deal of experience, many working adults’ careers are hindered because their educational qualifications are not up-to-date. Fortunately, several brick-and-mortar and online colleges have recently launched new certificate programs that can help graduates put their careers on the fast track.

For instance, a Missouri-based school recently announced that it has created six new certificate programs, which were designed with adult learners in mind, the Carthage Press reports. Enrollees can choose to pursue certifications in adult automotive, adult construction, computer network administration, machining or nursing assistance.

While certificate programs do not award degrees, individuals who complete these programs may gain a new skill set that could boost their career. These courses of study could provide working adults with the qualifications they will need to gain a promotion or earn a higher salary.

These programs may also benefit high school graduates who are not ready to begin pursuing a full-time degree, but wish to gain marketable skills that can supplement their diploma. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, students who have earned some college credits earn an average of $699 per week.
