In response to the recent economic downturn, many businesses are looking to revitalize their image by launching socially responsible initiatives. As a result, a great deal of campus-based and online schools are revitalizing their offerings to teach students how to integrate public service into their work.

For instance, a California-based business school had created a course that is intended to help current and prospective business professionals learn how to use social media to launch socially responsible campaigns that can boost their businesses, the San Jose Mercury News reports.

In fact, many MBA programs are placing an emphasis on the ways business professionals can use tools such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to reach a broader client base and spread their messages of public service.

These types of skills could help graduates boost their resumes and land high-paying jobs with companies that are looking to integrate emerging technologies or revamp their reputation in their communities.

Payscale.com, a research company, says that MBA degree holders working in 2008 typically earned between $73,510 to $171,583 per year.
