Students who wish to hold a job while they work toward a campus-based or online college degree may be able to further their education with the help of their employers.

Cincinnatti-based company TriHealth has engaged in a partnership with a local university to help its employees pursue higher education, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

School professors travel to the company's offices one night per week to teach classes that are prerequisites for some of the college's bachelors and masters programs.

TriHealth receives a 20 percent discount on tuition for the classes, which is paid directly to the school. Employees can choose to take additional classes on their own, which may be covered by the company's benefits package.

Similar programs could help working students earn a college degree without accumulating a great deal of educational debt. In addition, they will not have to worry that they will fall behind on their personal and professional responsibilities.

Payscale.com, a research company, says that average salaries for individuals who have obtained bachelors degrees from campus-based or online schools range between $44,113 and $86,836 per year.
