Due to the economic downturn, companies in many industries are seeking employees that can take on various roles. As a result, professionals may want to consider enrolling in campus-based or online schools to gain skill in universally useful subjects, such as business.

In fact, many college programs online and on campus are beginning to answer the need for business education in various fields by creating curricula that integrate foundational skills in this area.

For instance, a North Carolina-based school recently received recognition for its MBA program that is intended to lead students into the growing biological science industry. Through this course of study, degree seekers are required to take courses in both science and business. In addition, they must complete a practicum, which can give them real-world experience in the bio-agricultural, bio-industrial, medical devices, diagnostics or pharmaceutical fields.

Individuals who complete similar degree programs could see improved career prospects, as government analysts say that job opportunities in the biological science sector are slated to increase by more than one-fifth over the next decade.
