More than ever, prestigious and traditional colleges are offering students online options to obtain their degrees. These programs cater to those who may have the desire to complete coursework from an accredited and well-known school but are unable to physically attend classes on campus.

A university based out of Boston, Massachusetts, will introduce a program that will guide students through college programs online for earning bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing.

Orbis education, a consulting company for higher learning institutions, has put together the degree track that will have non-traditional students take classes through the internet, then complete their required clinical study in a hospital that is convenient for them .

School officials say they hope to officially open the opportunity to students who would like to be healthcare professionals or better their current careers by next year.

The university was established more than a century ago, which makes this institution a mainstay among the myriad of Boston-based schools that are renowned for their success and achievements.

Experts say that the demand for nurses in many areas of the country is increasing as healthcare continues to change and expand. Students who wish to earn a degree in nursing can pursue online master's degree education to be among the first qualified candidates to be considered for these healthcare positions.

Another esteemed school in New Orleans is encouraging nurses to attend their open house in the coming months to learn about opportunities for continuing education in their chosen careers. This institution also offers several online programs, including a bachelor of science in nursing and doctor of nursing practice degree.

Staff members from the school will be on hand to answer questions that potential students may have about the program, tuition and acceptance rates. The entire open house will be held through the school's website.

If applicants are considering one of these available programs, they are asked to interview with faculty members after obtaining information from the open house.

Fall semester spaces are filling quickly as students realize the demand for nurses is high nationwide. Those considering any online program for various levels of nursing education should apply soon to be considered for next year's classes.
