Florida school hopes theology and business studies will help economy rebound

A college in Florida recently announced that it will add a bachelor's degree program in business leadership as a measure to address the nation's economic hardships.

According to the Florida Baptist Witness, the program was approved by the school's accrediting agency in September, and classes will be begin in January. The new degree will include 26 semester hours of biblical and theological studies in addition to business and general education courses.

The college's president said that the Christian principles and business know-how that students can gain from this program will help in the economy's turnaround.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that many top business executives carry a bachelor's or a master's degree in a business-related discipline. Leaders in this field must be capable to communicate clearly and persuasively while possessing self-confidence and sound judgement.

According to the BLS, top executives are among the highest paid workers in the U.S. The average salary for these prosessionals is $91,570 per year.

Individuals who are interested in this field may consider taking online business courses. In addition, religion and ethics classes are offered by some institutions.
