Professionals who wish to use their skills to launch fulfilling careers may want to consider entering the education field, as many campus-based and online schools are now offering flexible degree programs for prospective teachers.

Individuals who have never taught before might be threatened by the prospect of standing in front of a class of young children. As a result, many college programs online are now allowing degree seekers to practice their instructional skills while they are still in the process of completing their curriculum.

For instance, a Montana-based school gives teaching students the opportunity to earn a temporary license after one year of web-based learning. Individuals who enroll in this year’s graduate-level masters program may be eligible to teach in their own classrooms by the start of the 2011-2012 school year.

Internet-based colleges may be ideal for prospective teachers who wish to gain experience while they complete their coursework, as they can allow degree seekers to balance their professional and educational responsibilities. In addition, students who are transitioning from one career field to another may be able to do so without taking time off from work.
