As the face of modern education continues to change, professionals in this sector will need to stay abreast of emerging trends in the industry. Fortunately, many campus-based and online colleges have recognized the need for highly trained education professionals, and have launched degree programs to help them better serve their students.

For example, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based school recently began accepting applications for its online degree program in administrative leadership and supervision, which is intended for those who are pursuing careers in higher education, the Business Journal of Milwaukee reports.

The 33-credit program is designed to be completed in two years and will examine subjects such as institutional advancement and administration, faculty and organizational development, program planning, evaluation and coordination as well as teaching.

Individuals who complete the program may become student advisers, managers of support programs for underrepresented students, student housing specialists, business managers or holders of other administrative positions.

Education professionals who complete similar degree programs may see improved career prospects, as the Bureau of Labor Statistics says that the demand for administrators in this field is expected to grow by 8 percent over the next eight years.
